Traditional Tower Shoots

Tower Shoots are a traditional sporting activity with roots that go back to the old world. If you like to shoot a shotgun, tower shoots are for you. We have thirteen stands that surround a wooded area. These stands serve as a blind for a pair of hunters.
Birds are launched from the wooded area and take flight passing over the stands. Winds will affect the flight of the birds after their launch so hunters will rotate from stand to stand to provide an equal opportunity for all. Dogs and their handlers will be there to retrieve the downed birds. This is also an excellent opportunity for those of you with dogs that want to polish your dog’s retrieve.
Once all the hunters have made one complete rotation through all the stands the birds taken are divided equally amongst all the hunters. Tower shoots are fast-paced and require keen aiming, lead and a bit of luck to down the birds. They also are a very exciting sporting tradition that provide a lasting memory. If you know someone who loves to hunt but just can’t get around like they used to, a tower shoot is an excellent opportunity to bring back all the thrills of hunting.

After a quick break to divide up the birds and have lunch, walk-up hunts with guide and dog teams are available (if your shoulder isn’t too sore!)
