We also had additional demonstrations by the Boy Scouts, introduction to archery and NYSDEC conservation and hunter safety.
On behalf of The Board our thanks to our sponsors and to each and every one of our volunteer members who participated in assisting this worthy cause. You are a credit to the Club and the future of the sport.
WE STRONGLY BELIEVE that the hunting heritage in this Country and particularly in the New York Metropolitan area is in peril. Only through education and programs which allow our youth to participate and enjoy this wonderful outdoor sport, can we hope to further this heritage.
In an effort to start a movement toward this objective, the Directors, Officers and Members of our club voted to hold a "Take a Kid Hunting" program. This will be an all encompassing day in which we will host 20-25 young people aged 12 to 17 to a day of outdoor fun, safety education, hunting dog demonstrations and trap shooting culminating in safe small group bird hunts over dogs. Our staff consists of many knowledgeable individuals who will assist in the program including three NY State Licensed Hunting Guides.
NO PROFIT WILL BE MADE BY THE CLUB ON THIS EVENT.
This idea remains in its infancy and while the club will fund much of the activities, we are seeking sponsors both commercial and personal.
